length 2335 m,  volume of capacity 4,100,000 cu/ft,  height  181 m.

Three gorges dam slow earth rotation :

the three gorges dam was built, 39 trillion kilograms of water built up behind it is 181 m above sea level. NASA has calculated that the dam only slow the rotation by 0.06 microseconds.

Problem with three gorges dam:

 three gorges included the danger of  dam collapse, the displacement of some 1.3 million people living in more than 1,500 cities, towns, and villages along the river, and the destruction of magnificent scenery and countless rare architectural and archaeological sites
