Hoover dam: 

hoover dam is a concrete arch gravity dam in the black canyon of the colorado river, on the border between the u.s. states of nevada and arizona

size and capacity:

height of the dam 221.4m, length 376m and elevation at crest 376m, volume of capacity 2,480,000 m3


construction:

the first concrete was poured into the dam on june 6 1933 18 months ahead of schedule, the concrete was delivered in huge steel buckets 7 feet high and almost 7 feet in diameter crowe was awarded patents for the design.


 About the hoover dam:

hoover dam created by america largest reserviour, the nation largest reserviour, covers about 248 square miles and is capable of holding some 28.9 million acre of water.

Uses of hoover dam:

the purpose of the hoover dam is for power, silt and flood control, irrigation, and water for both industrial and domestic use. it was also world largest concrete structure at the time
